At UBA Solutions, innovation is something we live and breathe. This August, we hosted the FONT-AI UBA Hackathon 2025—a two-day event that brought together curious minds, bold ideas, and a shared passion for pushing boundaries.

The theme this time was “Leveraging AI for Font Applications & Boosting Internal Productivity.” With this as the guiding light, participants set out to explore how emerging technologies like AI and GenAI could:

• Contribute to Monotype’s mission of empowering creative expression through type.
• Unlock creative new possibilities for font-related applications.
• Enhance internal tools and workflows to make teams more productive.
• Help reduce costs and improve efficiency across departments.

But here’s what made this hackathon truly special: the ideas weren’t just dreamed up in isolation. The problem statements came directly from our colleagues across the company, ensuring that every project tackled a real challenge or opportunity we care about. Teams then selected the ideas that inspired them the most and dove in headfirst.

For two days, our workspace buzzed with energy, brainstorming sessions, rapid prototyping, lots of coffee, and plenty of collaboration. And while the hackathon officially wrapped up after 48 hours, the excitement didn’t stop there. The following week, teams came back together to present their demos in front of judges, showcasing everything they had built.

The results? Inspiring. Every team created something that carried the spirit of innovation and creativity that defines UBA.

More than anything, the hackathon reminded us that innovation isn’t just about the final product. It’s about creating a space where people can experiment, learn, and build together. And in that sense, FONT-AI Hackathon 2025 was a resounding success.
